The Strain Season 1 Review

So browsing through my Hulu account I found a new show on there called “The Strain” and recalling seeing ads about it not too long ago, I clicked on it. This is my honest review of the show.

Plot Summary:
Dr. Ephraim Good weather, the head of the CDC’s New York-based Canary Project, is called upon to investigate a airplane that landed with everybody on board dead. What his team discovers is a viral outbreak that has similarities to an ancient strain of vampirism. As the virus begins to spread, Good weather works with his team and a group of the city’s residents to wage a war that could hold humanity’s fate in its hand.

What’s to Like?:
If you are a horror genre fan and remember back in the days when vampires where ugly and meant to be scary? Well…you will love this show. Or if you enjoy the mystical then this show also is for you. As for the characters? They where okay. It felt like the characters where push aside a bit for the plot.

What’s not to Like?:
What I did not like was the fact that their show was a bit too empty in the plot area. By that I mean the plot was fine and they got to the point but it just felt like it was a bit short? It felt like not a lot happened in the first season. It was a whole lot of action and not a lot of depth.

Conclusion:
In conclusion I will give this show a 3 out of 5 because of the fact that it seems like too much was happening but the plot itself was a bit at a stand still. Will I recommend this show to others? Yeah because of the horror accepts. That is the best part about this show so far. Will I watch season 2? Hmmm…maybe.
